Unlike some clock shops, we prefer to repair your original movement rather than replace it.

Jackson’s Clock Works is a specialized repair shop dedicated to the restoration of mechanical timepieces and clockwork mechanisms. Originally established in Pendleton, Indiana, and now located in Avon, Indiana, the business is owned and operated by Daniel C. Jackson, who has been refining his craft for over 40 years.
Legacy & Training: Daniel's interest in clocks was sparked by his father, a watchmaker. He began his professional journey over 25 years ago, at a time when Indiana required clock repairers to be licensed—a rigorous process involving approved courses and testing rooted in the historical accuracy standards of railroad timepieces.
Approach to Service: Daniel views clock repair as more than just a mechanical task; he treats every clock with the respect of a family heirloom. He is known for his honesty, often advising customers if a repair cost exceeds the antique market value of the clock, though many clients proceed because of the sentimental value.
Philosophy: His motto focuses on the satisfaction of taking something broken and making it work again, often better than it did when it was new.
While many modern shops focus on battery-operated movements, Jackson’s Clock Works focuses exclusively on mechanical (wind-up) clocks. His expertise covers:
Diverse Timepieces: Everything from grandfather clocks and mantel clocks to cuckoo clocks and even antique car clocks (such as from a 1957 Chevrolet).
Clockwork Mechanisms: Beyond clocks, he repairs other gear-driven items, including antique phonographs (gramophones), music boxes, rotating Christmas tree stands, and wind-up toy trains.
Complex Restorations: He often corrects "poor workmanship" from previous repair attempts and is capable of fabricating parts that are no longer available for purchase.
